When the piston moves from the highest point of the stroke to the lowest point of the stroke, the single and two-stage reciprocating gas compressors create a low-pressure area in the pumping chamber. The gas compressor's pumping chamber is filled with gaseous products. When the piston reaches the top of the stroke, this volume of gas is displaced.
