SGL High-Speed Sliding Vane Pumps

Blackmer® SGL high-speed pumps, which are part of the Cavitation Line of sliding vane pumps designed for high vapor pressure liquids, are designed for the liquid transfer or recirculation of refrigerants and other liquefied gasses. Constructed of shock-resistant ductile iron and available with a wide variety of seal materials, SGL pumps are ideally suited for almost any liquefied gas application.

The sliding vane, positive displacement design provides excellent priming capability and high performance over a wide range of temperatures and differential pressures. The vanes self-adjust as they wear, maintaining the efficiency of a new pump. The vanes, liner and end discs are all easily replaced, bringing the pump back to like new condition. SGL pumps are available in 1.25- and 1.5-inch sizes.

Features and Benefits
  • Cavitation suppression liner design for reducing the noise, vibration, and wear normally caused by entrained vapors
  • Replaceable casing, liners and end discs allow easy rebuilding of the pumping chamber to like-new condition
  • Mechanical seal and elastomer options assure compatibility with refrigerants and other specialty gases
  • Available in 1.25- and 1.5-in sizes
  • Ductile-iron construction with internal relief valve
  • Blackmer mechanical seal and ball bearing construction provide maximum reliability
  • Symmetrical bearing support assures even loading and wear for long life.
  • Adjustable relief valve protects pump against excessive pressures
  • Advantages of sliding vane technology:
    • Unique sliding-vane pump design self-adjusts for wear to maintain flow rates
    • Excellent self-priming and dry-run capabilities
    • Sliding vane design provides sustained performance and trouble-free operation
    • Easy maintenance: vanes can be easily replaced without removing the pump from the piping system
    • High suction lift and line-stripping capabilities
    • Low maintenance and low life-cycle costs
